The Governing Committee of the Iowa FAIR Plan has named Robert D. Conroy, CPCU, CIC to the Executive Director position effective January 7, 2013.
Mr. Conroy is an experienced insurance executive with many years of experience as an insurance professional. His extensive insurance experience includes diverse positions that include agent, broker, sales manager, information technology manager as well as several executive positions in the Home Office of a national insurance carrier. He has been published in several insurance journals, been a keynote speaker at many industry events, and earned the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) designation as well as the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation.
He is a long time board member and past president of the Iowa Chapter of the CPCU Society, board member of the Iowa Insurance Hall of Fame, board member of Polk County Crime Stoppers, principal and board member of the Des Moines Flying Club, LLC and co-owner of Conroy Insurance Services, LLC.
In his spare time Bob enjoys spending time with his family; wife Debbie, their five children and three grandchildren. He is intrigued by the Internet and maintains numerous web sites and social media portals. Bob and Debbie enjoy travel, reading and aviation activities together. For five years they have helped to facilitate “Financial Peace University” financial planning classes each year at their church to help hundreds learn how to budget and plan for the future.
